The Faithful Man

“Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” Prov. 20:6

The Lord tells us in this proverb that men by nature are on a self-condemning path of self-righteousness and self-atonement. He is always looking for some evidence of goodness in himself to recommend him to man and God. He doesn’t know that what he is proclaiming as “goodness”, God calls “filthy rags”. Christ said, “there is none good but one, that is God”. Mark 10:18. Please notice that this proverb begins with “Most”… not all. Who can find a faithful man? Those who find (or are found by) The Faithful Man.                                                                                 -Greg
