…blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world... Eph 1:3-4.
When a child of God closes their eyes in death, they will open them in glory. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8. They will behold the face of Christ in righteousness and be satisfied to awake in his likeness. Ps. 17:15. However, let us not think that experience will be set in contrast to our life here. Oh no. When we pass from this world into eternity, time will be no more. We will not be comparing where we are to what we have left behind. Without any memory of this world, we will see in the person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ… we have always been there. ~GE

In election the Lord set us apart to be His children.
In adoption He gave us the relationship of children.
In regeneration He gave us the privilege of being His children.
In justification He gave us the perfect standing of children.
In glorification He will give us the inheritance of children. –

Finished means finished! Done means done! Our Lord really, freely, fully and forever redeemed His elect by His substitutionary sacrifice on Calvary’s Tree. “By one offering He has perfected forever them that are sanctified.” By His own blood He entered once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. “But now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.” ~Tim James

A sure way to stir up self-righteousness in my heart is to compare myself to others. A sure way to suppress self-righteousness in my heart is to quit looking at what others are doing and compare myself to Christ. ~Frank Tate

“I Have Finished the Race”
2 Timothy 4:7
The life of faith is compared to a race. However, it is not a sprint but a marathon. Many can run a sprint, but few can run a marathon. As Paul neared the end of his life, he did not brag that he ran faster than others, ran with proper form, or that he never stumbled or fell during the race. He mentioned only that he finished. Often we become so wrapped up in how well we are running that we forget that the goal of this race is simply to finish. And we know that the race is much longer than our stamina can endure, so we do not look to ourselves for the strength to run it. Rather, we look to the only One who was able to run this race under His own power and do so victoriously. Child of God, do not give up though the way seems much farther than you can run, and do not fear that you shall not finish. You will. The same grace of God that put you in that race will be sufficient for you to finish. ~Joe Terrell (1955 – 2024)

He is a Jew which is one inwardly;
and circumcision is that of the heart. Rom. 2:29.
What is circumcision of the heart? I wish the circumcision of the heart was to have all sinful fleshly desires cut from my heart. One glorious day, that will be our experience. Just as all believers rejoice to see that day, so every child of God has already experienced in the new birth the circumcision of the heart. All hope and confidence in any fleshly means of salvation has been cut from their hearts. What things were gain to them; they now count as loss that they may win Christ. They no longer trust their will, their works, or their wisdom. Christ is all and in all. This is the law of God written on the heart. ~GE

Forgiveness
God’s forgiveness of our sins in and by Christ is not partial, but complete. He has forgiven all our sins: past, present, and future. So thorough and complete is our Heavenly Father’s forgiveness that He will never impute sin to us to any degree or for any reason. So absolute is the forgiveness of our sins that our God will never treat us any the less graciously for having sinned! ~Don Fortner
CALL TO WORSHIP
Our sov’reign God maintains His universal throne;
In heav’n, and earth, and hell He reigns, and makes His wonders known!
His counsels and decrees, firmer than mountains stand;
He will perform whate’er He please; and none can stay his hand!
All things His will controls; and His all-wise decree
Has fixed the destinies of all in matchless sov’reignty. —
Jacob by grace He saved, and gives no reason why;
But Esau’s heart He left depraved. — And who shall dare reply?
What if the Potter takes part of a lump of clay
And for Himself a vessel makes and casts the rest away?
Who shall resist His will, or say, “What doest Thou?”
Jehovah is the Sov’reign still; and all to Him must bow!
My soul, bow and adore the Lord in all His ways;
His sov’reignty none can explore; but I will trust His grace!
“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things:
To Whom be glory evermore! Amen! Amen! Amen!”
